Release News:
Ufo Gestapo - first st LP will be the next vinyl on Streaks, though it is number 14. But I will keep the numbers according to confirmed releases.
This will be as you may guess a release of the CDEP that was released by Calculon in early 2008.
Looking forward to this soonish release that will feature a hand silkscreened cover with insane art of Johnny Gestapo as always.

The third album of these maniacs is in the works too, I am happy to release all parts of this trilogy with different musical styles still within the Gestapo universe. I have high expectations on the third melting the cleaner and keybord-driven s/t with the nasty Vatependr LP. Be prepared!


At no point less important is the Caskets Open Debut LP. They are at the moment mixing the new LP. A bit away from the Reverend Bizarre-ish Doom more to a Type o Negative in Slow, Deep and Hard aera, still maintaining their own total unique gloomy and abysmal style that shows the Punk edge too. what I heard till now is unbelievably cold, violent and blasphemous. These guys know exactly where they come from and where they want to go.

The GRIEF 2LP finally arrived, long story. Uge of Throne is not really reliable, so I have only 2 more copies to sell at the moment. so act fast.

If he clears this there will be 3 more. As well Marcel Blinddate and me should do the handnumbering of the copies by ourselves, but as Uge send to little I refused to do anything about it.

hey folks, no update here in the news for some time.

I have some Austrasian Goat LPs left and still 1 or 2 colored copies available from people that didn't pay their reserved copies... So act now!.

Streaks Records proudly announces the Frogskin (Finland) / Taunt (Germany) Split 7"

Finally this nasty, alcohol imbued and drug-abusing cluster bomb is out soon! Each band one song. While both playing the same style of dirty, grooving sludge, they still emphasize their own approach and blend.

Taunt with a monumental, 1 riff based but very varied song that crumbles every piece of dope. Foaming with rage, Frogskin on the other hand blow out a rumbling blast of a song, spitting acid in nearly 8 minutes.

While Taunt are self-destructive and desperate, Frogskin concentrate on suffering, pain and anger.

Both smashing in the mud as hell, so fasten your seatbelts!

Nothing new to say about the Frogskin/Taunt Split, we're working on it. The artwork drafts I saw are amazing, will be something really special.

okay, a LOT of stuff gone, but the new CHURCH OF MISERY LP + 7" arrived.
Yes they are pricy, but I can't help it. please write hatemails to japanese postal service and pressing plants.
Also I got some I.O.U. 7" from the band that is currently touring Europe, don't miss them and this brandnew 7".
Still hot is the Superbad 7" from Ragerizer, the AHAB DLP will come the next couple of days, also the Battle of Disarm Split.

Unfortunately the band I wanted to release backed out at last minute. good luck with the other label...

Nevertheless there will come a new StreaksRecords release later this year, be prepared!

The Stumm / Loinen Split is here.
this is a true masterpiece of insane drug-abusing sludge, this time with more drone influences, but still riff oriented. get this killer, it is limited to 265 copies from Kult of Nihilow.

Another nice surprise was the arrival of the Superbad and Skincultere 7"s from Ragerizer, which I traded without knowing anything about them. both bands hailing from Portland, both with great influence of Iskra, Fall of the Bastards, Dystopia or Man is the Bastard.
Highly recommended!

Finally this bastard is here! I am very proud about this second Streak, many thanks to Stumpy and Stu for their patience and enthusiasm.
The layout and all is amazing, the white vinyl has stickers with handnumbering on the innersleeves.
Growing up with Pitchshifter and Godflesh for me this is a perfect mix of industrial in UK tradition with dirty Sludge.

The review:
It makes sense and everything... Finland is dark and cold, with a winter that is bleak and inhospitable, forests, and huge expanses of frosty tundra, but it still seems impossible, or at least extremely unlikely, that there can be a seemingly neverending stream of gloriously depraved doom that continues to emanate from our favorite far away land. But who's complaining? Not us that's for sure. We can't get enough frozen Finnish weirdness, especially when it's of the doomy and sludgelike variety. And Loinen is most certainly both sludgelike and extremely doomy. But that's not nearly all.

Loinen (parasite in Finnish) traffic in "nihilist sludge core" and while that may be true, they do manage to add some interesting little sonic twists to what could be just another tarpit trudge through a downtuned wasteland. Which is not a bad thing, not at all, we could happily spend the rest of our days wrapped in a pair of headphones, crawling through a sonic wasteland as black as pitch, but when a band can create a bleak landscape that manages to transcend the typical, we're all the more thrilled. The core sound is of course familiar, crumbling downtuned and ultra distorted guitars, churning riffs, pounding drums, and the glacial groove of dual bass crunch and drum pound makes up the framework of this whole disc, but Loinen, take a few liberties. One is a strange flair for the dynamic, no static slow motion riff trudgery, instead, the guitars, crunch and grind, stop and start, allowing lots of space to seep in, and building strange rhythms out of the doom. Very reminiscent of Dutch hypno-rockers Gore at times, with the churning looped vibe and the hypnotic repetitive arrangements. But the weirdest part of Loinen's doom-iverse is the vocals, a haunting croon, like some impossible mix of Scott Walker and Urfaust, sure there are howled demonic shrieks, but they spend most of the time buried way down in the mix, coming to the surface here and there, but it's those creepy soulful vocals that add an unexpected dimension to Loinen's doomy dirges. Turning some tracks into expansive epics that almost sound like some sort of doom metal Swans. Plus they even cover obscure Finnish punk legends Terveet Kadet! Awesome!

Packaged in an eye popping gatefold, all scrawled black and white madman illustrations, the sort of art you'd expect to see on the wall of a cell at an insane asylum, a tattooed figure, a toothy grimace, all sorts of crosses and clouds, little beasts and lots and lots of text. Cool.
